Research

My research focuses on inequality, crime and punishment, families and children, and quantitative and historical methods. I am especially interested in the ways that families interact with the criminal-legal and child-welfare systems, with consequences for racial, class, and gender inequality. I also work on developing new, large-scale sources of longitudinal administrative data.
